The ERP System as an onboard application which can track spare parts Inventory on a vessel. The System records the quantity and the value of each part and allows the crew to order parts when they go below minimum level. Overordering is virtually eliminated by the system, because the location of each part is tracked and as a result orders will be eliminated for parts that are on hand already. Critical parts can always be properly maintainedonboard each Vessel, reducing the need for emergency shipments. The Inventory system also allows the crew to order as they schedule their maintenance, ensuring the parts are available when the work needs to be done.
